Now in its 7th year, Stonnington Jazz presents the best of Australian jazz. For 10 days in venues across Stonnington, music lovers will have the chance to experience the most superb jazz music this country has to offer.

Stonnington Jazz proudly presents 100% Australian artists, the festival features both established and emerging jazz musicians performing the spectrum of styles that the jazz genre encompasses.

This year's program will feature over 40 performances, with concerts at the Malvern Town Hall, Chapel Off Chapel and a range of other venues.

Programmed by Adrian Jackson (also Artistic Director of the Wangaratta Jazz Festival), Stonnington Jazz has an extraordinary selection of talented musicians performing in often previously unseen collaborations.

Features are Sarah McKenzie who will open this year's festival with a concert at Malvern Town Hall. A rising star of Australian Jazz, singer/pianist Sarah will launch her new album, performing with her Sextet, and with Graeme Lyall and the Generations in Jazz Big Band.

Other program highlights include the extraordinary Barney McAll making a rare Melbourne appearance for two shows only, much loved Australian muso Joe Chindamo doing Mozart arrangements with violinist Zoe Black, Rai Thistlethwayte performing a rare jazz concert, Rai is sharing the bill with Josh Kyle, a rising star who played at the London Jazz Festival last year. The Patron of Stonnington Jazz – Allan Browne will be performing The Poetry of Classic Jazz, combining jazz and poetry marking the launch of his book of poetry.

Australian jazz icons Vince Jones and James Morrison will perform shows at the TRAK and Red Bennies as part of this year's festival. The Firemen also play Red Bennies.
