Starting its life in 1965 as a progressive musicology school, the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music was founded by multi-faceted Professor Trevor Jones – a bassoonist, historical musicologist, the first proficient non-indigenous didgeridoo player, and a strong advocate of indigenous music.

Today, the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music aims to inspire musicians towards excellence that knows no borders taking a progressive and culturally diverse approach.
