James MorrisonSadly, after 22 years the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority has canned the Darling Harbour Jazz & Blues Festival.

Such a shame, as the programming over the past couple of years in particular provided a diverse showcase of jazz, highlighting a depth and breadth of talent.  The Festival primarily supported Sydney artists, but also featured internationals such as Ron Carter, side by side with locals such as James Morrison, through to Kristin Berardi, Elana Stone, James Valentine, Brett Hirst, Tina Harrod, Virna Sanzone, James Greening, Phil Slater, James Muller and interstate artists such as Katie Noonan, the list goes on and on.

You can find more information on their Facebook page as a campaign has been activitated in protest at this tremendous loss to the Sydney jazz scene.  https://www.facebook.com/SaveDHJBFestival?ref=stream

There are TWO rallies planned for Wed 30 January, as follows: 1. Meet at 12noon on the steps of Parliament House, Macquarie St. Sydney 2. Meet at 2:00pm at 66 Harrington St. The Rocks. Both rallies will be for approx 1 hour duration. Again, more information on the Facebook page.
