Prize for young jazz artists of more than 6,000 Euros

It looks like the chances of winning this if you don’t live in the region are pretty slim, but who knows? The competition has been running since 2004.

Registration for International Jazz Artists Contest “Riga Jazz Stage 2016” has begun.

The contest will take place in Riga from April 7 till April 9. Young jazz artists in categories “Jazz Vocal” and “Jazz Trombone” are welcome to submit applications!

Riga Jazz Stage aims to give chance for young jazz artists to perform on international stage together with musicians from different countries.

Prize fund of more than EUR 6000 together with fully paid concert engagements at the jazz venues and festivals. Performances of the contestants will be evaluated by professional jury of musicians, producers and festival directors from USA, Turkey, Poland, Baltic countries etc.

Contest was founded in 2004 and it is the only jazz genre contest in Latvia that has attained such a recognition gathering young and undiscovered jazz talents from all over the World. Since its founding already 116 young jazz talents from 21 different countries has taken part in it!
