Melbourne Jazz has announced the full line-up of its 2007 festival with acting Lord Mayor Gary Singer dubbing the event “Australia’s greatest jazz festival”.
In November, festival director Albert Dadon announced many of the marquee artists, including Gary Burton, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sanders.

The festival will take place from 3 – 13 May at venues including Crown, Hamer Hall, Bennetts Lane and Federation Square.
Mr Dadon said more than 50 percent of the concerts will be free, with free stages to be set up at Federation Square and at Crown.
The 2007 event is Mr Dadon’s first as artistic director. He assumed the role last year after an acrimonious split with Umbria Jazz’s direcrtor Carlo Pagnotta.
