During the weekend of 23rd September 2005, the historic town of York with its many heritage listed venues will once again welcome both young and old to enjoy the best of Jazz in and around the parks and streets.

The organisers are arranging an event that will entertain all those that appreciate traditional and contemporary Jazz as well as those who just enjoy good music in sensational settings.

Sponsored by Lotterywest, Healthways and others the York Jazz Festival celebrates the diversity of jazz music. This weekend will see a stunning line-up of local, regional and interstate artists performing in an assortment of venues from bars, restaurants, historic gardens, parks, the local racecourse and on the streets of this unique and historic town. Headline act James Flynn features at the headline Town Hall concert on Saturday night.

This weekend promises to be a Festival in the true sense of the word. Live music from Friday to Monday in one of many venues throughout York, Swing dance workshops, free entertainment for children, the Schools Band competition, Australian Army band, produce stalls and workshops, the York Cup and other races at the York Beverley Turf Club, street entertainment and ‘Family Sunday’ – put this one in your diary now!

Just an hour’s drive from Perth for the day trippers or the opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonderful country hospitality offered at York’s many accommodation venues.

Cost: Free entry to all venues except for Saturday night concert in York Town hall

Avon Terrace, Castle Hotel, Faversham House, Jah Roc Café, Peace Park, Ragged Robin, Settlers House, Yorkys Coffee Carriage and the York Town Hall.
