The 2014 Australian Jazz Bell Awards will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony on Thursday May 1 at The Plaza Ballroom, Regent Theatre, Collins St. Melbourne.

The Jazz Bell Awardswere established 11 years ago to acknowledge excellence in performance, creativity and presentation. They are the only Australian Jazz specific awards held to recognise and honour the exceptional talent of the Australian Jazz community.

“Over the twelve years of the jazz Bell Awards, I have never failed to be impressed by the exceptional talent of the Jazz community in Australia. The quality of recordings sent in for nominations year after year always makes it a very difficult task for the judges choosing the finalists in each category.”  Said the founder of The Jazz Bell Awards and Jazz Musician, Albert Dadon AM.

The Jazz Bell Awardsencourage the Jazz community, involved in the release of a recording over the 12 months since the last awards, to submit their recording to ensure they are in the mix for consideration for one of the prestigious 2014 awards.

Key figures from the Australian and International jazz scene will make up the judging panel.  The diversity of their talent will ensure an exhaustive selection of winners for each of the categories.
