When Australia’s own Jazz Virtuoso, James Morrison, dubs Jazz in the Vines “Australia’s premier outdoor Jazz Festival”, you know it’s got to be something special.

2007 Jazz in the Vines promises to keep the flag flying high with a stellar line up guaranteed to delight both the veteran jazz enthusiast and the new kids on the jazz block.

At Jazz in the Vines you’ll hear David Campbell performing songs from his award wining album “The Swing Sessions” This is David Campbell back to doing what David Campbell does best: singing the songs he was born sing. The Swing Sessions puts David in front of a big band and tips his hat to the greats that inspired him become an entertainer in the first place.

“My heroes were the ultimate showmen, like Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr and Tony Bennett,” says David. “What I’ve tried to do is pay tribute to those men that made me the singer that I am.”

If you’ve never heard David sing like this before, you are in for an unbelievable treat. Listen and melt as David brings his own distinctive touch to classics like Mack The Knife, My Funny Valentine, Mr. Bojangles, Can’t Take Eyes Off You, The Way You Look Tonight, and many more.

And then there’s Doug Williams and The Mix delivering R&B, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop and Groove in Doug Williams style. Doug makes every show special and unique with his charm, wit, humour, and above all, a voice that curls your toes and leaves you wanting more. Surrounded by a group of young and talented stars in their own right, THE MIX deliver sounds that are tight, with funky arrangements and smooth harmonies. The best live musical show you will see in a very long time.

Doug joins some of the best jazz acts in the country – Wanderlust, Bonnie J Jenson and the Boom Band Krewe to name a few!

Event manager, Grant Smith, believes that the combination of great talent and the event’s particular setting against the backdrop of the Brokenback Mountain of the Hunter Valley are the key to the Jazz in the Vines magic

“The event is for anyone who wants to sit back, relax and enjoy a day out with family and friends,” says Grant.

“World renowned wineries Tyrrell’s, Drayton’s, Tamburlaine, Bimbadgen Estate and the Hunter Valley

Wine Society will all be there on the day with wine by the bottle.

“You can truly indulge you taste buds with entrée size servings of gourmet delights from some of the great restaurants of Wine Country: San Martino Restaurant, The Mill Restaurant, Elizabeth’s Café, Esca Restaurant and Wine Country Café.
