Jazz Queensland is limiting the scope of the email newsflash service to items relating to its core business. This means it will no longer be promoting individual artist/band gig listings.

In 2004 that constantly sending out of emails for individual gig listings in the Brisbane area meant they had less time for ‘bigger picture’ projects such as organising the compilation CD.

Jazz Queensland operatates with one part-time (2days/week) Marketing and Development employee… and the rest of our committee give of their time voluntarily!

Instead, JQ is now sponsoring www.brisbanejazz.com to provide information on regular jazz gigs going forward. If you are wanting to promote/find information on jazz gigs in Brisbane please visit www.brisbanejazz.com and send details through to Veronica on contact@brisbanejazz.com.
This is an excellent local service and Veronica will make every effort to promote your gig…maybe even including a photo if you’re nice!

As for their news service – from March 2005, Jazz Queensland will be sending out a web page newsletter once a month (mid month).

Items they will be focussing on include:

JQ sponsored events eg. The Valley Jazz Festival; larger jazz events such as jazz festivals throughout the state, information supporting jazz musicians in their work eg. tips on promoting your jazz CD online; details of artists touring the state; and local CD launchs.

This list is by no means exhaustive and if you think you have an item of interest please send it through to info@jazzqueensland.com.
