Continuing our tradition of making our festival accessible for all, we have a plethora of free events to appeal to all ages.

We are excited to be joined again by Musica Viva in Schools to present free workshops at the Redfern Town Hall.

Jnr Jazz Jam – Early Secondary Workshop

Sat 19th Jan at 2pm

The Redfern Town Hall

Aimed at 12 – 16 year old instrumentalists. During the workshop students will be mentored by Jazzgroove & Musica Viva musicians, who will discuss, demonstrate and perform concepts of improvisation. Registration is a must as there is a very limited capacity. Go to jazzgroove.com to book your place!

Jazzgroove for Kids

The Musica Viva in Schools Allstars Jazz Band plays the music of Ornette Coleman, Sun Ra and Harry Belafonte. Learn our dance, sing our song, grab some bells and shake along.

Jazz Picnic In The Park

Prince Alfred’s Park

With three sets by three charismatic bands, load your picnic basket & come soak up the sun whilst soaking up some music for this free family friendly event.
