Following a successful debut in 2006, Melbourne’s Stonnington Jazz Festival returns next month.

The program features a selection of groups playing in contemporary, mainstream and classic jazz styles at two venues – Malvern Town Hall and Chapel Off Chapel – from 15-25 March.

The ubiquitous James Morrison performs with his quartet plus Joe Chindamo, Vince Jones glides with strings and the Dale Barlow Quartet plays with US drummer George Coleman Jr.

Other ensembles include:
Jackson Harrison Trio plus Ball-Hannaford-Talia’s ‘Messaien Project’
Jamie Oehlers and String Quartet play Piazzolla plus Jamie Oehlers and Sam Keevers
Matt McMahon Trio plus Band of Five Names
Paul Grabowsky Quartet
Bob Barnard plays with “Family and Friends”.

Adrian Jackson – the guiding hand behind the Wangaratta Jazz Festival – is Stonnington Jazz’s artistic director.
