WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) are excited to announce that applications for our 2013 Composers-in-Residence program are now open as part of our 30th anniversary celebrations. With the support of The McCusker Charitable Foundation, the program has been greatly expanded, and we are able to provide two outstanding emerging composers with the exciting opportunity to develop their skills in orchestral jazz composition.

OPEN TO ALL AUSTRALIAN JAZZ COMPOSERS 30 YEARS OF AGE
The successful applicant will receive:
• $7,500 to produce at least three original compositions
• Flights and accommodation (if not a Perth Resident)
• Advice / mentoring from WAYJO Music Directors and / or other industry professionals
• Opportunities to rehearse and perform with WAYJO’s top band, the 18-piece Composers Ensemble
• An opportunity to present the new compositions in a world premiere showcase concert
