On May 29, 2008 I received this message from the US Library of Congress
29.5.2008
Greetings Mr. Pilbrow.
This may come as a suprise….
I am working on the Gerry Mulligan Collection here at the Library of Congress in DC. I found a folder with many of your tunes you had sent Gerry a few years back! He had it labeled “Some good tunes from an Australian.” You obviously made an impression on him.
I thought I’d look you up and see if you’re still in the jazz biz. The tunes look great you sent him and they will rest safely with the rest of The Gerry Mulligan Collection here at LOC – an honor in itself!
Check out our music on line at www.loc.gov – performing arts, it’s quite impressive. We have selected a few Mulligan pieces for the public to view.
Please feel free to say a hello if you are ever passing through Washington DC.
My Best,
Tom Barrick
