Congratulations to this year’s winner Emma Stephenson
This year’s line up was an all New South Wales final with Ellen Kirkwood with the Sirens Big Band, Emma Stephenson’s trio accompanied by vocalist Kristin Berardi and Nick Garbett with an augmented Vampires lineup battling it out at the Sydney Opera House.
Emma performed with her band Nick Henderson – bass and Oli Nelson drums and featuring Kristin Berardi with finely nuanced and wonderfully emotive vocals. It was a beautifully varied set showing off Emma’s versatility, technical ability and the range of her composing skills, subtle yet complex.
It is Emma’s plan to record in New York and work with artists such as Jo Lawry. She also plans to set up a distribution chain for music.
