Australia hosts a number of jazz festivals around the country, from big mothership music focussed affairs such as Wangaratta Jazz Festival or Brisbane International Jazz Festival through to activity that focuses around food, wine and jazz.

The Mildura Jazz Food and Wine Festival, celebrates jazz and food with dinners, a Jazz Street Party, a river cruise and school bands

One of the highlights of the festival is its eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary Jazz, however this can often present a challenge to organisers, as audiences are mostly strong supporters of one or the other.  The 2014 line-up brings opportunities for audiences to experience different forms of Jazz, and challenge their senses. Artists range from Mildura favourites the Peter Hooper Quartet and Maryborough Traditional Jazz Ensemble through to Sydney Jazz band The Cope Street Parade whose ‘hot sounds of New Orleans meld with gypsy’.
