Hemispheres at Sydney Opera House presents Roberto Fonseca on 9 March at the Concert Hall.

“A fabulously gifted pianist, composer and bandleader, he has a gift for melody that outshines many peers, yet his virtuosity and invention mean he can hold his own at any jazz club in the world.” The Guardian, UK

One of the most talented, profound and charismatic young musicians to emerge from Cuba in recent times, Roberto Fonseca will make his Sydney debut in the Concert Hall for one show only on Monday, March 9.

Drawing on his work with Buena Vista Social Club (having succeeded the legendary Ruben Gonzalez) Fonseca possesses a unique percussive style and his compositions draw on his Afro-Cuban heritage and a deep love of jazz, funk and soul. Fonseca will make his Sydney debut as bandleader with his quintet and a stunning stage show that recharges the Cuban tradition.
